Support What Matters to You

The Marquardt Foundation offers donors the opportunity to support several key funds, each of which strengthens our communities and enhances the lives of those we serve.

General Fund – Your gifts to the General Fund allow Illuminus to use your dollars where they are needed most, whether it’s helping cover the cost of care for residents who have run out of funds, investing in new technology and equipment, or supporting campus improvements.

Staff Appreciation Fund – Contributions to the Staff Appreciation Fund are used to celebrate and recognize the compassion and care shown by our team members.  From donuts to campus picnics to holiday gifts, your support helps make possible expressions of gratitude and sends an important message to our staff that the work they do is valued and appreciated.

Milo Loppnow Spiritual Life Fund - For so many residents, faith and spiritual life opportunities is an essential part of their campus experience.  By giving to the Milo Loppnow Spiritual Life Fund, you help enhancing worship spaces and support our campus chaplains by providing dollars for training and materials.

Commonheart Fund – Those who utilize Commonheart Home Health and Hospice may give to our Commonheart Fund, which provides needed resources for our caregivers and funding for our Last Wishes and Because We Care programs.

Opportunities to Give

Regardless of the amount you give or how you choose to give, your support is valued and appreciated.  Not only will your gift make a difference in the lives of the older adults we serve; in many cases, your gift will benefit you by providing a charitable deduction.  Common giving options include:

Online Donation – One time or reoccurring gifts can be made via debit or credit card here.

Check – Checks may be mailed to The Marquardt Foundation, 1045 Hill Street, Watertown, WI 53098.  Please make checks out to “The Marquardt Foundation”.

Gifts in Memory or Tribute – Honor a loved one or an employee by making us aware your donation is a memorial or tribute gift.

Bequests – Remembering the Marquardt Foundation in your estate plans or trust allows you to leave a lasting legacy and will benefit our organization for years to come.

Gifts of Stock – Gifts of stock can be transferred electronically to an account maintained by the Marquardt Foundation at a brokerage firm.  Donations of appreciated stock not only benefit residents, but often provide tax benefits to the donor.

Gifts of Insurance – Many people own insurance policies no longer needed for their original purpose and may want to consider transferring these policies to the Marquardt Foundation.

Charitable Gift Annuities and Charitable Remainder Trusts – These gifts allow you to gift assets to the Foundation and receive benefits such as annual payment for life or a term of years and an immediate charitable deduction.  The Marquardt Foundation utilizes the professional services of the Moravian Ministries Foundation in America as our planned giving advisor and funds manager.

Gift in Kind – The Foundation accepts donations of services and non-cash gifts such as artwork and furniture providing they are needed by the communities we support.  It is the responsibility of the donor to provide a written estimate of the fair market value of the gift on a form provided by the Marquardt Foundation.
